Campaign Story

Hello Everyone and blessings to all. I’m writing to find assistance with my egg preservation journey. First, thank you all for taking the time and moment to read my story. I am a 35-year-old woman who works serve those within communities. I recently started my journey for IVF at age 34 after explaining to my gynecologist that, due to my age and never conceiving, I would like to freeze my eggs. Being a mother has always been a dream of mine, and I always listened to others when they say you have more than enough time. In my case, unbeknownst to me at the time, my story would be a little different. My gynecologist referred me to mainline health which at my first visit, I received bad news and a diagnosis that I never knew that I had until that day (September 16, 2025). After getting an ultrasound, I was informed that I had endometriosis and that one of my fallopian tubes was damaged. I was also recommended to complete an MRI and was scheduled for surgery to get 1 or both of my tubes removed. The news was heartbreaking due to my believing that I had time and not knowing that I had these issues that were overlooked for years, with routine yearly exams with my gynecologist. Nothing in this world means more to me than being able to conceive love and care for my own child. On top of that news, I was made aware that although I’m in Law Enforcement and work for the State of PA, my employer does not offer Fertility Coverage. Family is so important to me. When my mother passed away at age 21, I became a kinship guardian to my 15-year-old sister and her 6-month-old son. To date, I have 5 nephews and 2 nieces, and I spend a lot of time with them and do my best to make sure they are happy and give them the things that parents could not afford. My siblings always express how much my nieces and nephews love me, and their faces light up every time I see them. For now, I have applied for 3 grants, and I have FSA and funds saved totaling 5,000. I really would appreciate all assistance for egg retrieval that can range anywhere from 20,000 to 30,000 in total, including the medications. This is my only true goal and passion in life, to be a mother. I’d like to invite whoever may be moved by my story to contribute in any way their hearts pull them to do. All will be greatly appreciated, whether big or small. I will continue to spread love and positivity in the community and encouragement for all struggling through this process. Thank you all for taking the time to read my story.

With love,
DeAndra
