Campaign Story

Our names are Alexandria Castillo and Luis Enrique Mora III, and for the past five years, we have been holding onto one dream — becoming parents.

Like many couples, we entered marriage believing that starting a family would come naturally when the time was right. We imagined the little moments so many people often take for granted: hearing tiny footsteps in our home, celebrating birthdays, creating family traditions, and experiencing the joy of raising a child surrounded by love. But our journey to parenthood has been far from easy.

After years of trying to conceive, doctor visits, unanswered questions, and heartbreak, our lives changed in 2024 when I had to undergo surgery to remove both of my fallopian tubes. In that moment, we learned that the only way we can have a child is through In Vitro Fertilization. It was devastating news, but we refused to let go of our dream.

Since then, we have poured everything we have — emotionally, physically, and financially — into this journey. We have already gone through one egg retrieval and two embryo transfers, both of which ended unsuccessfully. With each failed attempt came grief that is hard to put into words: the hope of finally becoming parents, followed by the heartbreak of starting over again. Still, through every setback, we continue to lean on our faith and trust in God’s timing.

Family means everything to us. We come from big, loving families, and we have always dreamed of bringing a child into that same warmth, love, and support. We know in our hearts that we are meant to be parents, and we are not ready to give up on that dream.

As we prepare for our next IVF cycle this July, we are reaching out for help. IVF is our only chance to have the baby we have prayed for, but the costs are overwhelming and much of it must be paid out of pocket. Asking for help is not easy, but neither is walking through infertility.
