Campaign Story

My name is Yesika Rodriguez and I have been married to my husband, Joe, for over 12 years now. We have not been able to conceive due to some issues with my Fallopian tubes. My tubes have had many issues including being blocked, having some unexplained twists and turns, and being filled with liquid. I recently had to remove my tubes because the liquids they were harboring was slowly seeping and affecting my ovaries and organs. The decision to remove my tubes was soul-crunching for me as it really meant I would never be able to conceive naturally. But it was almost a life and death circumstance. Now that my tubes have been removed, my husband and I have been advised that we have a very good chance of getting pregnant via IVF. This is very exciting for us but also very expensive. We’ve already had $3500 in expenses all leading up to IVF and have more to cover IVF itself and the meds. We hope that our insurance will cover the IVF cycle after our 20% coinsurance payment but the meds are additional out of pocket expenses for us.
