550Days to go
Kassandra Meyer is organizing this fundraiser.
We are asking for help in our trying to conceive journey. Before starting our journey we got a surprise of a positive pregnancy test. Our family became very excited at the idea of a new addition to our family. Our excitement was soon met with the news that it was an ectopic pregnancy. After two rounds of methotrexate and being told I have a bicornuate uterus, our hearts were still yearning for a new addition. We tried for about six months on our own, before I decided to see a Reproductive Endocrinologist to make sure my tubes were okay.
I knew from my pregnancy with our son that there was a septum or something going on with my uterus. I was then told after some testing, that it was either a bicornuate uterus or a septate uterus. I then had an MRI done and was told it was a combination of the two. I scheduled surgery to get as much of the septum removed as possible. At my two week check-up we were told that it was just a septate uterus and that there was no way to safely remove all of it. We’re trying Clomid next, but we have been told the greatest chance of us having another child would be IVF. Unfortunately, with IVF finances come into play. We are not able to afford to pay 100% of IVF costs.
With my significant other being in the military, sometimes it’s hard to know when he will be deployed for months and so being able to time IVF and possibly freeze sperm, would be even more beneficial to our journey.
We so badly want to add to our little family, however without insurance covering any fertility treatments it gets very discouraging. It takes a lot for us to ask for help, but we are very appreciative of anything we are able to receive.
