Campaign Story

Hello ! My name is Amanda and my husband’s name is Howie. We have been trying to convince for about 5 years. I was so excited to try and bring in the first grandbaby! I knew my dads health was declining and wanted nothing more but to see him become a grandfather! We found out that my husband needed varicocele surgery. The day AFTER the surgery I found out I was pregnant (I know right!!) I though miracles do happen! I found out a few weeks later I had an ectopic pregnancy. I was treated with medication. Unfortunately my fallopian tube ruptured and I was bleeding internally. It resulted in emergency surgery to remove the fallopian tube. When I was in the OR I was at ease because I knew my dad was there just one floor above me. When I was getting discharged I went up to his room to tell him about the loss. At the time my dad had a tracheotomy and could not speak. I told him I’m not giving up yet and he needs to pull through because he will have to chase all these rugrats! He had a subtle smile on his face. He placed his hands together as if he was praying and lifited them up to God. One week after my surgery my father passed away. I know now that my father wasn’t ment to be an earthly grandfather… he was ment to be a heavenly grandfather. The silver lining is that I know he is with my baby. And I find peace. I unfortunately had a 2nd ectopic that was treated and resolved safely. I am now at high risk for ectopics and we are doing IVF. After almost 1 1/2 years we are FINALLY doing our first round! Unfortunately with only 1 potential embryo that made it we have to start from scratch. I am grateful to be able to be in the position to try ivf. We worked so hard to just here HERE. My father had money set aside for me (Ironic) and now we are back to square one. I am writing this to tell my story! If you have or know anyone going through IFV or any form of infertility let them know that you hear them, that they are strong. I pray for all the women and families that I see and come across!
