Hello, we are Jacob and Lauren and we are starting this go fund me to help with the costs of IVF. We have been married for almost four years and have the best fur baby named Harper Rae. Lauren is an elementary teacher and Jacob is a police officer. We both have an AMAZING life, but there is one thing missing still. We have been trying to conceive for almost two years, but have been unsuccessful. Within the past year we have suffered from two miscarriages, which have been devastating. Twice we had the opportunity of welcoming a child into this world and it has been taken away from us each time. We have gone through many tests including lab work, semen analysis, HSG, vaginal ultrasounds, medications, and specialty doctor appointments to further the understanding of the cause of the miscarriages. The doctors have chalked up them up to “unexplained losses”. We have had all the tests done possible and they have found that both of us are healthy and they cannot give reason/diagnosis for the losses. Due to this, our doctor suggested going to a fertility doctor to see our options. With more months of testing done, the doctor suggested an intrauterine insemination (IUI) cycle. Each cycle takes a toll on the body with the medications and not to mention mentally. We tried three rounds of IUI’s and all failed. After three failed IUIs, the doctor recommended the next step of in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment. The success rate for IVF starts at 70%, which gave us some hope back after everything we experienced. We are so excited/nervous to begin our journey, but unfortunately IVF is not covered by insurance and we have already spent thousands of dollars on our fertility journey thus far. The estimated cost of an IVF cycle and the medication is upwards of $30,000. We are hoping to help offset these costs with the money we raise through this fundraiser. We are very hopeful for what the next few months have in store!
