Campaign Story

My partner and I are preparing to begin IVF treatments after a long and heartbreaking journey to start our family. We tried for years, facing three failed IUI attempts before finally getting pregnant on our fourth try. Our son, Grayson Michael, was born with an extremely rare genetic condition called Leigh’s Disease. We only had 16 precious days with him, but in that short time, he became everything we had ever dreamed of as parents. The days we spent in the NICU were filled with anxiety and heartbreak—watching monitors, listening to alarms, and hoping for a miracle as Grayson fought for his life. Seeing his eyes open for the first time at eight days old was a moment we will never forget, even as we faced the unimaginable loss of our son.

After Grayson’s diagnosis, we learned that I am a carrier of the gene responsible for Leigh’s Disease. This knowledge has led us to pursue IVF, which will allow us to test embryos and ensure we do not pass this gene on to our future children. Our hope is to build the family we have always dreamed of, while protecting our children from the pain we have experienced. IVF offers us a chance to move forward with hope and intention, honoring Grayson’s memory and the love we have for him.

We are raising funds to cover the costs of egg retrieval, genetic and embryo testing, medications, sperm donor fees, and embryo transfer. Every contribution will help us take the next step toward growing our family and give us the chance to welcome a healthy child into our lives. Your support means the world to us, and we are grateful for any help you can offer as we continue this journey.
