Campaign Story

My name is Kaycee and my husband’s name is Erik. I work full time at a cancer infusion center as an RN, and my husband is active duty Navy. We’ve been married for almost three years, and have been trying for a baby for two years. After about a year of trying, we finally got pregnant! We were overjoyed about our pregnancy until I ended up in the hospital, and we miscarried. We took some time off from trying and about 2 months later we went to a fertility clinic. We began doing fertility tests, eventually, we started doing medicated cycles. We did several medicated cycles, meaning I was put on an oral medication to help me ovulate. After having several failed attempts, we moved on to intrauterine insemination (IUI), along with taking oral medication. We tried twice before switching to a different clinic. We had to redo a few fertility tests and found that my ovarian reserve had decreased. I am 28 years old with the egg reserve of a 39-40-year-old and was recently told I would only be fertile for another 2-3 years, and if our next cycle fails we may have to go as far as getting donor eggs.
The new clinic had us try one more medicated IUI cycle, and it failed. I was on oral medication and also doing injections into my stomach during this cycle. My husband and I have already been through one cycle of IVF, which failed. During our retrieval, they only were able to get two eggs, and only one fertilized, after 6 days we got the call that our one egg didn’t make it. We have already spent around 30,000 during our fertility journey and we could use help in creating our family. I have always wanted to be a mother, and my husband has been so excited about having a baby. Anything that can be donated would be greatly appreciated.
