Campaign Story

My name is Alan Hocke and from an early age I have had several difficulties in life as I was born with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, resulting in over 20 surgeries since birth.

When I was younger I was told I would never be able to have children due to my medical conditions. However, more recently I was told there could be a possibility. With this new information I was given a renewed sense of hope.

My wife, Hope, and I got married in May of 2021 and shortly thereafter began trying to start a family. After being unsuccessful for over a year we decided to seek out medical advice. Unfortunately, we received news that we couldn’t conceive a child naturally due to the extent of my health issues and low sperm count. You can imagine our disappointment. We were instructed that we should start with infertility treatments. As you may know, these types of treatments, including IVF, are very expensive. Hope and I work very hard but the expense of infertility treatments goes beyond our incomes. For this reason, we are asking for help from our friends, family and through our social networks to help make our dreams of having a family become a reality.
