Campaign Story

We are Jacob and Katie (Chism) McBride, and we are reaching out for support in our fertility journey. We have been trying to conceive for going on five years.

In May of 2023, we suffered an ectopic pregnancy that resulted in the loss of the left fallopian tube. This was caused by the fallopian tube being wrapped around my ovary. After almost two years of no pregnancy, we consulted our OB/GYN for help. In December 2024, I went in for a hysterosalpingography (HSG) where they tested the remaining fallopian tube for viability; the results were unsuccessful.

In March 2025, I underwent a diagnostic laparoscopy with a tubal dye study to look for endometriosis and once again test the fallopian tube. The tube was unable to be opened, and they found endometriosis on my bowels, ovaries, and uterus. We have now been referred for IVF and we have unfortunately reached the crushing reality of costs not being covered by insurance.
