Campaign Story

My name is Sydney and I would like to speak on behalf of my lovely soon to be sister in law Jasmine McCoy. I met Jasmine in 2016 in high school. Looking back on how it all started 6 years ago in comparison to where we are today as a family is mind blowing. Time truly does fly by. I wouldn’t want it any other way. I watched my sister Morgan quickly fall in love with Jasmine. As their connection grew, I realized very early in their relationship that Jasmine would be a part of our family forever. She was the perfect addition and I could never imagine it any other way. We have grown up together from teenage years to our adult years. I treat Jasmine as if she has been my sister since birth. This is exactly how it is supposed to be. Morgan and Jasmine are an LGBT couple who are deeply in love and fighting to start their family that they’ve dreamt of since the day they’ve met. In March of 2021, Jasmine went to the OSU ER in unbearable pain with a large lump bulging out of her lower stomach in which she had thought nothing of as it slowly grew in her for who knows how long. What she thought was something minor, turned out to be devastatingly life changing for both her and her fiancé Morgan. That night in the ER both her and Morgan waited in the patient room for a total of 12 hours while Jasmine underwent extensive testing, blood draws, and scans to figure out what was going on. Let me tell you that was the longest 12 hours of their lives. They were too nervous to eat & just held each other praying that it wasn’t something that could affect their future or any of the plans they’ve made otherwise in their lives. I can’t even begin to put in words how strong these women are and how they truly are there for each other through sickness and health. After that 12 hours passed, the doctor came in to deliver news that they would’ve never imagined. News that had shattered their hearts. It breaks my heart to this day that my sister and sister in law had endured so much pain during this time and it still affecting them to this day. Jasmine was diagnosed with a softball sized potentially cancerous cyst on her ovaries with smaller cysts surrounding this monster that had taken over her abdomen. It was a nightmare that they never thought could happen at such a young age or ever for that matter. Jasmine was immediately scheduled for a 4 hour long high risk surgery in a strong attempt to remove both the large cyst along with the smaller cysts which surrounded the large one. Jasmine was awoken 5 hrs post operation to be informed that the surgeon had to remove an ovary and a half to make sure all of the cysts were removed. At 21 years old Jasmine had a half of an ovary and a heart of fire. A heart full of love and passion for the people she loves dearly. Jasmine has now made a full recovery from her cyst removal surgery that she underwent in 2021 and both she and her fiancé are still fighting for the family they deserve. They have attempted IUI but unfortunately that is no longer an option for them and the doctor highly recommends them to begin IVF as the next step in their fertility journey. Jasmine has a perfectly healthy uterus that is fully capable of carrying a fetus. I am making this GoFund me in an attempt that it reaches anyone who can potentially help my sister and her fiancé. I appreciate you even stopping to read their story. It truly means so much. Even if you only donate $5 toward this fundraiser it would mean to the world to both me and them. Anything puts them one step closer to starting a family than where they were before. Please share their story if nothing else in hopes of raising not only the money needed but raising awareness to their unique situation. We are willing to do whatever it takes to make this happen. ♥️
