Campaign Story

We are Zach and Alyssa Jeffrey, hopeful parents-to-be. We are starting this fundraiser in the hopes of being able to bring a baby Jeffrey into our loving family.

After no success trying to conceive on our own, we were diagnosed with infertility (diminished ovarian reserve AKA premature ovarian failure) and were advised that IVF was our only option. We spent 2021 going through several IVF stimulation cycles, but each round failed because my ovaries didn’t respond to the medications and couldn’t produce a single egg. In April 2022, we purchased donated eggs from a selfless, anonymous woman who would be the genetic mother to our children. The egg bank created another obstacle for us by not sending us all 8 eggs we purchased, but we were blessed to have 2 healthy embabys – one boy and one girl – created from the eggs they did send. We transferred our embaby boy, Everest Brian, on July 13th, but he became our angel in heaven just 2 weeks later. We are absolutely heartbroken over the loss of our son, but are trying to remain hopeful for our daughter’s success and refuse to give up our hope of holding our sweet baby Jeffrey in our arms.

This journey has been emotionally, physically, and financially demanding, and it’s not over yet. The IVF medicines and procedures have not been covered by our health insurance, and we are running out of creative ways to fund this journey ourselves. Even family-building grants require application fees, which add up quickly. We are also hoping to hold the egg bank responsible for not sending us all the eggs we purchased (which are our only opportunities for babies), which would incur an unknown amount of additional legal fees.
