Campaign Story

Hello there! We’re Kate and Damian Nopulos and we need your help. Wanna help us make a baby?!? Woah! Let’s slow down a bit and get to know each other before we get down to the nitty-gritty.

In January of 2022, we’ll celebrate our 20th year as partners in crime, with 11 of those years married. Damian is a killer home cook and grill master, a guitar wizard, an armchair paleontologist and the funniest mail carrier this side of the Susquehanna river, if you count Dad jokes of course. He would like nothing more than to have his own chance of being called μπαμπάς, Bampás or Daddy in Greek.
Kate is an amateur detective, trying to solve all the world’s mysteries in her down time, including all of the Dateline, Netflix, and YouTube thrillers she can handle. When she isn’t consumed with sleuthing, or her love of tacos, she tries to turn her grayish thumb into a green one while working in her new garden. She believes bees are life and that recycling will save us all! Kate would love to turn her passion for community and education into a new profession, one where’s she’s called Momma.

This is where you lovely people come into play! Every little bit helps. Any donation made will go directly to funding our IVF fertility treatments at Shady Grove Fertility Center in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Fertility treatments are expensive and have to be paid upfront, in advance, and unfortunately our insurance only covers diagnosing infertility, not treating it. The cost of this fundraiser will go directly to the cost of the procedures, monitoring and remaining medications (not covered by the Cade foundation meds grant we received) that it’ll take to create a baby in this way.

On a personal note, we’re aware that there are many people who have gone or are going through the same exact journey as we are. We’ve experienced medical issues and miscarriages that make having a child on our own, unassisted, rather unlikely. After three unsuccessful IUI attempts, our doctor thinks it best that we move on to IVF treatments.

Unfortunately, our story isn’t unique. We would love to be able to create our own little family unassisted, however, sometimes it takes relying on your friends, family and community when your chips are at their lowest. If you’ve made it this far in our story, all we can say now is thank you for taking the time to consider donating to our cause. We’re just two people who love one another unconditionally, who would love the chance to make life together. We promise to instill the values of compassion, charity and hope in our children that, one day with your help, will become a part of this wonderful, extended community we’ve created together.
