Campaign Story

My name is Melanie. My husband (Dan) and I started our journey with infertility a little over 4 years ago. In September of 2019, we tried our first round of IUI and were unsuccessful. Since then, our reproductive endocrinologist recommended that my husband see a urologist, who could potentially improve our situation.  Due to the COVID—19 pandemic, my husband, who is a Navy veteran, had difficulty getting into the VA for a minor surgery, which if successful, would possibly still allow us to get pregnant on our own.  A surgery that should have taken place in or around March 2020, didn’t happen until July of 2021. In January of 2022, we received the devastating news that the surgery left our situation virtually unchanged, and that our only hope left to have a child of our own, is through IVF. The costs of IVF are astronomical, and neither of our insurance plans have any sort of coverage. Any donations will help us and  many others achieve our dreams of becoming parents.
