Campaign Story

We are Christina and Kadejah Maple and we are looking to expand our family, or add a new leaf to the Maple Tree. I am a Nurse and my wife is a Naval veteran currently employed as an EMT/Fire Fighter. Throughout the course of our day we get to see the joys of being parents, from a parent calling fire rescue when their child is unsafe to a child bringing their parent into the hospital for a checkup. Being a parent is such a beautiful process that we witness at every stage and something that we want to partake in ourselves. Due to the obvious complications of being two women we are unfortunately unable to make this dream a reality naturally and have to undergo fertility treatments to make it possible.

We hope to proceed with a treatment known as Reciprocal In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Reciprocal IVF is procedurally the same as traditional IVF with the difference being that eggs are retrieved from one patient, while another patient receives the embryo transfer. In our case Kadejah will have her eggs retrieved and I will receive her embryos. This will allow for both of us to be a part of the process.

We are so excited at the prospect of being parents but as I’m sure some of you know, IVF treatment can be VERY expensive. We are asking for help on this new path by donating to our fundraiser.
