Campaign Story

My name is Diana. My husband, Chaim (43), and I (41) are the grateful parents of two children who are the light of our lives. For most of our lives, we assumed that growing our family would follow a straightforward path. We did not imagine that we would one day be navigating repeated pregnancy loss in the hope of continuing a journey that has become far more complex than we ever expected.

Since October 2023, our desire to grow our family has been marked by profound heartbreak. I have experienced three successive miscarriages, the most devastating occurring at 18 weeks of pregnancy. We had seen movement on the ultrasound and heard a strong heartbeat. I named her and began writing letters to her in a journal for her to read someday. We were preparing our hearts and our home, praying she would stay. She would have been due on December 12, but left us in early July.

The grief was immediate and overwhelming. For weeks, I cried myself to sleep and woke up panicked and sobbing. The loss was all-consuming and followed me into every part of daily life.

After extensive testing and medical consultation, my doctors determined that IVF with genetic testing is medically necessary given my history of recurrent pregnancy loss. This approach offers the best chance to identify chromosomally healthy embryos and to pursue a pregnancy with a realistic chance of success.

We have continued forward, but the financial impact has been severe. I am an independent consultant and the primary income earner for our family, with no employer benefits or paid time off. This past year, our household income declined by approximately 60%.

Our insurance does not cover IVF, and to date we have spent approximately $28,000 out of pocket, not including additional medically recommended treatment that may still be required.

The next phase of treatment represents the possibility of healing after loss and the courage to try again. Without financial support, continuing care may not be possible for us. With your help, we would be able to keep moving forward and give ourselves a real chance to grow our family.
