Campaign Story

Hello family, friends, and kind-hearted strangers.

We’re Ryan and Wendy Baadsgaard, and more than anything, we want to be parents. From the moment we got married four years ago, we imagined a life filled with little footsteps, bedtime stories, and a love that only grows with each passing day.

Ryan proudly serves in the U.S. Navy, and we’ve built a life full of adventure—fishing, exploring the outdoors, and making memories with our three dogs. But through it all, our biggest dream has remained just out of reach.

After nearly two years of trying to conceive, we turned to a fertility specialist for answers. Test after test, procedure after procedure, we were met with challenges we never expected. Endometriosis, hypothyroidism, and the heartbreaking reality that my body wasn’t ovulating on its own. Still, we held on to hope, trying medicated cycles, praying each month would be the one. But after two failed attempts, we decided to step back, take a breath, and trust in God’s timing.

And then, it happened. A positive pregnancy test. The most beautiful two pink lines we had ever seen. We cried, we laughed, and for the first time in years, we allowed ourselves to believe. But just a week later, I found myself in the ER with unbearable pain. Our joy was replaced with devastation as we were told it was an ectopic pregnancy. There are no words to describe that kind of loss. We grieved deeply, leaned on each other, and slowly found the strength to keep going.

When we returned to our specialist, she recommended IVF, but we wanted to try one last time through IUI. In February, we took another leap of faith. And once again, we were met with heartbreak. It was then that we knew—it was time to move forward with IVF.

IVF is our best chance at finally holding our baby in our arms, but it comes with an overwhelming financial burden. Asking for help is not easy, but we are so grateful for the love and support of those around us. Whether through a donation, a prayer, or simply walking this journey with us, your kindness means the world.

Thank you for believing in us and in our dream of becoming parents. Your love and support are more than we could ever ask for, and we hold onto the hope that one day soon, we’ll be sharing the news we’ve waited so long to give. One day, we will hold our child in our arms and know that every tear, every heartbreak, and every moment of waiting led us to them. Thank you for being apart of our journey.

With love, Ryan and Wendy Baadsgaard
