Hello, my name is Ayoka, and I am reaching out with a heartfelt request for your support in our journey towards parenthood. My struggle with stage four endometriosis, a condition I’ve battled since the age of 10, has been a challenging road. Despite regular medical checkups and complaints about painful periods and weight gain, my condition was only diagnosed after enduring the heartache of two miscarriages. This late diagnosis is a stark reality for many, especially in the Black community where studies show that Black women are less likely to receive timely and accurate diagnoses for conditions like endometriosis. This often leads to advanced stages of the disease and complications in fertility, mirroring my own experience.
Our journey has been marked by persistence and hope. After the disappointments of unsuccessful intrauterine insemination (IUI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF) attempts, leading to four failed miscarriages, our dream of becoming parents still burns bright. We now have one precious opportunity left – a frozen embryo that we hope can be carried by a surrogate. This step, however, is financially demanding, and we humbly ask for your generosity to help us make this dream a reality. Your donation, no matter the size, will bring us closer to our goal and the joy of parenthood that we’ve longed for.
