Campaign Story

We are Josh and Andrea Poe

Our journey to parenthood has been a challenge. In 2019 we knew that the time had come to expand our family. We found out
that we were expecting on December 20th we also found out that I had 9 fibroids that would eventually end our pregnancy (we lost
the baby at 7 weeks). We took the proper time to grieve and figured we would try again in the near future. We decided that we
would workout more and change our eating habits to try and shrink the fibroids because I was not ok with surgery. During the
global pandemic we received the news that we were expecting, and thought just maybe God was going to let us keep this one (we
lost the baby at 8 weeks) Of course we were devastated, but knew that surgery was a must so that we could bring our bundle of joy home. In November 2020 I had a myomectomy to remove the fibroids and to see if there was anything else that would stop us from conceiving. After 6 months we were given the green light to try again (we couldn’t wait). Only to not have any success for
3 years. We prayed, we fasted, we continued to eat healthy and workout until the time came that we needed to seek extra help. We decided to seek a fertility clinic for extra guidance and we found just what the problem was. My right tube is completely blocked and the left one is partially blocked. Again devastated to find out the news because at this point there was a 1% chance that we could concieve naturally. Well, October 31, 2023 that 1% was made possible. We couldn’t believe GOD’s promise had finally happened! During my 1st trimester, I was diagnosed with HG (throwing up more than 7 times a day) and was put on meds to help me keep anything down (didn’t work). We made it to our 13-week check-up to be told that our baby boy no longer had a heartbeat. It completely broke us both! On January 16, 2023, I had a D&C and started hemorrhaging a 30 minute procedure took 2 hours. By the grace of God, I made it and we are taking it day by day. Although we are still grieving our son we have not given up hope of becoming parents.
