Campaign Story

Hello. My name is Nicole Rodriguez, and I suffer from Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome or PCOS as it is normally referred to. PCOS is a very common hormone problem for women of childbearing age. Women with PCOS may not ovulate, have high levels of androgens, and have many small cysts on the ovaries. PCOS can cause missed or irregular menstrual periods, excess hair growth, acne, infertility, and weight gain. My husband and I have been together almost 10 years. We have been trying to start our family for 9 of those years. We have suffered several miscarriages and three failed IUI treatments, in addition to several years on Clomid and Letrozole fertility medications. Despite the fight I have put up to battle PCOS, the realization has finally set in that, due to the consequences of PCOS, In Vito Fertilization (IVF) is our last shot and chance to have a baby of our own.
