Campaign Story

My name is Shaunda and I have been struggling with infertility for 12 years and counting. I have been pregnant before in 2011 and it ended with a miscarriage and almost ended my life as well. My husband and I would like to do IVF as we have found out that we are both carriers of Cystic Fibrosis.

We want to give our future child the best life we can and the only way that can happen is doing IVF treatments along with PGT-M to test for the genetics.

I also have PCOS and I do not ovulate on my own, so getting pregnant on my own is not a possibility for me.
We do not care if we have a boy or a girl, that is not what this is about. I have always wanted to be a mother and being almost there and losing my baby girls destroyed me. My husband understands how bad I want this and how far I’m willing to go.

We save and save and get almost there and something has always came up to take those funds. We have been approved to do the Shady Grove Shared Risk Program which will help us greatly, but we still have to come up with the funds.

We have collected the things we need for the arrival of a baby just to be prepared to start the treatments, But the one thing we didn’t plan for was the real costs. Treatments plus the medications is breath taking. We just want this one chance to have a little creation of the both of us, Hopefully with my eyes and his nose.

Wanting something that is right here in front of you and not being able to touch it is heart wrenching.

Our time is finally here. We just need a little help with this big part of our journey.
