Campaign Story

Ly (Ly, Lys) and Sophie (she/her) have been together for 8 years and were married in 2018. They live with their 2 cats in Bronx, New York. Ly is a Music Associate with National Dance Institute and Sophie is a therapist with a practice in Brooklyn. They are looking to grow their family with reciprocal IVF using Ly’s eggs and Sophie’s uterus. Although they both have insurance that covers infertility, insurers are only required to cover medical infertility, not social infertility (LGBTQ+ couples). This is yet another barrier for so many queer couples including Sophie and Ly. They are eager to start the journey of parenthood and are grateful for any financial support.
