Campaign Story

We are Raphael and Mirela, a Christian Canadian-Brazilian couple. We have been married for more than a dozen years, have a teenager, and we used to call ourselves the three musketeers. Couple years ago, we decided to grow our family by adding a fourth musketeer. We got pregnant with a little girl called Anna, a name our first daughter chose due to the Frozen movie about two sisters. However, we discovered that Anna had a heart condition called Tetralogy of Fallot, which brought many worries and tensions during the whole pregnancy. Anna came to earth and rose to heaven on September 21st, 2014, leaving us with a devasted heart and empty arms. Took us some time to recover emotionally and physically. In 2019 we decided to restart our plan and we though the first time about adoption but because of the highly costly adoption fees, we had to put it on hold as we could not afford it. We then decided to try another bio baby. We try several months, even tried 3 IUI with not success. In 2022 we got pregnant naturally, however we had a early pregnancy loss. It was a tremendously sad moment in our lives. We don’t know what God’s plan is and why we had to pass through all of it, but we do know that this is not the end of our history.
Even with broken hearts, we decided to give us another chance, we thought about some options and adoption was the first one in our list, however the most expensive. While we still want to adopt a kid, we decided to make a try with IVF/ embryo adoption, which are costly treatment as well, but seems closer to become true miracle.
