Campaign Story

Hi, my name is Candice, and my partner Dez and I have been together since 2015. This November, we’ll celebrate 10 years of love, growth, and commitment. Our journey together has been full of highs, lows, laughter, lessons, and a lot of faith. Through it all, we’ve stood by each other — learning, growing, and becoming stronger as a team.

Becoming parents has always been part of our dream. We’ve talked for years about building a home where our child would feel deeply loved. Dez has always had a natural gift with children. Her heart as a teacher shows how patient and nurturing she is. I’ve always had a deep love for children too, whether it’s spending time with our nieces, nephews, and friends’ kids, or finding small ways to make them laugh and feel special. Together, we’ve built strong connections with the children in our lives. They’ve filled our hearts in ways that continually remind us how ready we are to share that same love with a child of our own.

Our path to parenthood looks a little different. As a same-sex couple, we’ll be growing our family through IVF, a journey that’s both beautiful and challenging — emotionally, physically, and financially. But we believe this is the path God has chosen for us. Every step we’ve taken together has prepared us for this moment — to open our hearts and home to the child we’ve prayed for.
The past few months have been full of preparation, and I’m thankful to share that everything looks hopeful for IVF. Because fertility care isn’t covered by our insurance, we’ve taken on the early costs ourselves, trusting that God will continue to provide as we move forward in faith.
