Campaign Story

Hi, my name is Destiny. I’m 24 years old and pregnant, and I never imagined I would be in this position. I recently made the hardest decision of my life—to leave an abusive relationship—in order to protect myself and my unborn child. Walking away meant losing everything familiar, but staying would have meant risking our safety.

Since leaving, I’ve been struggling to find a safe place to live. I’ve stayed in shelters, but many are unsanitary and unsafe, which is terrifying while pregnant. The county assistance available to me hasn’t been enough to help me secure stable housing, and I don’t have family support to turn to during this time. Every day I’m doing my best to stay strong, but the fear and uncertainty are overwhelming.

The funds raised will go directly toward securing safe housing and preparing for my baby—covering things like an apartment deposit, rent, basic necessities, and essential items to welcome my child into a stable, loving environment. I’m trying to rebuild from the ground up and give my baby the life and safety they deserve.
