Campaign Story

Hi, my name is Shayna Patton.  My husband’s name is Keith.  We have one daughter, who is 16.  Keith has been her only father in her life and has been there since she was 7 years old.  We have been trying to have a baby for several years now through both natural and medicated cycles.  Unfortunately, we have experienced 3 miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy.  Through seeing a fertility specialist, I recently found out that I have one blocked tube, a small cesarean isthmocele, and anterior and posterior uterine scarring. I was also diagnosed with low AMH (0.70), which means I am producing fewer eggs than I should be at my age. This not only decreases our chances of conceiving naturally overall, but also increases the chance of a genetically abnormal egg if we do conceive on our own.  I am now 35 years old, with the amount of eggs you would see for a woman in her 40s.  This really puts a time crunch on our journey, as we are worried about the number of eggs I have left.

The next recommended step is to try IVF. As most people know, IVF is a very expensive process.  Our fertility specialist recommends Duostim IVF, which increases the cost but gives us the best chance of having a healthy embryo.  The total cost will be over $26,000, not including the medications we will have to purchase.  We do not currently have insurance that covers fertility treatments, so we must come up with all of the money on our own.

As anyone who has experienced infertility knows, it can be an emotionally and financially draining journey with many ups and downs.  I am starting this fundraiser in hopes of making IVF possible for us and praying that it is God’s will for us to have our miracle baby.

Prayers, donations, shares, and support are greatly appreciated as we continue on this journey.
