Campaign Story

Getting pregnant did not come easily for us, as IVF is our only option for having a child due to me not having Fallopian tubes. It took us roughly 3 years to get pregnant with our twins and that was after multiple tests and procedures, 2 surgeries, and an IVF cycle that produced only 3 embryos that we could try to transfer. When the long awaited transfer day finally arrived, we were given the news that the embryo we planned to transfer did not thaw correctly (which happens less than 1% of the time) and it would have to be discarded. This was heartbreaking. We were then given several options, which ultimately led us to the decision of transferring our remaining 2 embryos together in order to increase the chances of a live birth. We were lucky enough that both of those embryos implanted and resulted in our miracle twin girls!
We never realized how much we would miss that 3rd embryo though until recently. We are extremely blessed, but we also feel like we are still missing a piece of our family. We have recently decided we want to try again for a 3rd child. Coming to this decision has been years in the making; agonizing over what is best for our family. We know very well the time commitment, emotional and physical stress, and financial debt that fertility treatments brings. Time is not on our side, as we are growing older and my ovarian reserve is diminishing rapidly. We are asking you to help us on this journey by donating to our fundraiser. We are seeking assistance with some of the financial burden of IVF (insurance coverage is not currently available for IVF treatments or required medications) and we would be honored if you could help in any way.
