Campaign Story

Hello! My name is Amber and my other half, Matt, and I have a bit of a long story. We went to high school together, graduated, then met up again after five years. We have been trying for a baby for most of our relationship. I have PCOS and hypothyroidism but I also struggled with my weight for years. I finally got that under control and we were finally able to conceive this year. Unfortunately it wasn’t meant to be and we ended up experiencing a miscarriage.

After consulting with our local fertility clinic, getting bloodwork done for us both, getting an HSG, sperm analysis, we have been told that our chances of conceiving naturally/on our own is practically zero. He will be starting on medication to try and get his count up and we have decided to try for IVF since it has the best chances given our situation. I want to do what I can to raise as much as possible in the mean time. It will take 3 to 4 months for his medication to take effect and time is already not on our side. We will greatly appreciate any and all assistance, including just sharing our campaign. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Update: IVF is our best option.

    (11/24/22)

Unfortunately my significant other did not respond well to the medication protocol we were trying. IVF seems to be our best bet and it is a very daunting task. We were given a quote and we definitely would appreciate any and all assistance we can get.

    What a journey

Nobody could have ever warned us about just how hard the path of infertility is. Matt and I had temporarily tried other ways of becoming a family, including foster care but that unfortunately did not pan out well for us. The children were amazing but the system is definitely broken, and in turn broke us down further.

We have decided to try raising funds again since the financial obstacle is still looming over us. We have the estimate for our local fertility clinic but we have been exploring an out of state option as well. Once we get that estimate we will be sure to upload it as well.
Before all that though, we will need some baseline imaging and bloodwork done. Our insurance will cover some but not all so any bit of help towards that is immensely appreciated.
