Campaign Story

Hi, we’re Wes and Michayla and this is our story..
For most people (including us), growing a family is something they hope for and assume will happen easily one day..
After getting married in 2021, we began dreaming about the future we wanted to build together. That future included having children, and while we weren’t quite ready right away, we looked forward to it.
We imagined a child who would be a little bit of both of us. Maybe Wes’s smile, my eyes, his sense of humor, and my empathy. We dreamed of a future home with tiny hands and feet, designing a nursery, family traditions, and the joy of watching our own child grow. We never imagined that starting our family would become one of the greatest challenges we’ve ever faced.
For two years, we’ve been trying to have a baby. What began with hope slowly turned into doctor appointments, testing, procedures, difficult conversations, and heartbreaking uncertainty. Six months ago, we received an earth shattering diagnosis of severe male-factor infertility, absolutely no sperm found (azoospmermia), and our world changed in an instant.
We learned that our chances of having a biological child are extremely low, and impossible without advanced medical intervention. Our path forward now includes an invasive microsurgery, IVF, ICSI. They are the only procedures that offer hope, but also come with an overwhelming financial burden.
As part of our treatment plan, we may also need to purchase donor sperm as a backup option. This is a possibility we never imagined having to consider, and it has come with its own grief, difficult conversations, and emotional decisions. While we remain hopeful for a successful outcome with Wesley’s surgery and our treatment, having a donor option available may be necessary to give us any chance of growing our family. This is still such an extremely difficult decision to make. The additional costs associated with donor sperm are another part of the financial burden we are facing throughout this journey.
Infertility has challenged us in ways we never expected. It has brought grief, disappointment, and moments of feeling left behind as we watch so many others grow their families while wondering if we’ll ever have the opportunity to grow ours.
It has also strengthened our marriage. Through every setback, we’ve held onto each other and onto hope. We continue to believe that our story isn’t over yet.
We’re raising funds to help cover the costs of the treatments that give us a chance to become parents. Every donation, share, prayer, and word of encouragement helps lighten the burden and reminds us that we are not walking this road alone.
More than anything, we’re fighting for the chance to experience the simple moments many people take for granted: hearing little footsteps down the hallway, reading bedtime stories, celebrating first birthdays, and building the family we’ve dreamed about for so long.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for supporting us in any way you can. Your kindness, generosity, and encouragement mean more than words can express.

With love and gratitude,

Wes & Michayla 🤍
