Campaign Story

Hi! We are the Boucher family. I (Kevin) am a survivor of Stage IV cancer. At the age of 21, I was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive type of lymphoma that affected my liver and spleen. I quickly underwent a regimen of intensive chemotherapy followed by a cord blood transplant. I am proud to say that I am now 8.5 years cancer free!! Now, what my wife, Arielle, and I are wanting more than anything is to become the parents of our own biological child. We have tried to conceive naturally for the past 5 years. However, we have been unsuccessful due to my past cancer treatments. Luckily, I banked specimen prior to starting chemotherapy. So, we consulted with a fertility specialist and attempted an IUI treatment, which was also unsuccessful. Our doctor now suggests that we try an ICSI treatment, which has a higher success rate compared to IUI and IVF, because we don’t have many vials of my specimen to work with. Now, Arielle and I are searching for grants and other means to fund the treatment in hopes that we can soon become parents.
