Campaign Story

My name is Keely, and my husband’s name is Jimmie- we’ve been married for 6 years and together for 9 years. We have been trying to grow our family since 2017, but have unfortunately encountered some problems along the way. I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic ovary syndrome) in 2017, which means my ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens. For me, this means I do not ovulate- a key step to growing a baby!

I have gone through a couple of procedures this month (HSG and Hysteroscopy) which resulted in finding out that my ovaries, fallopian tubes, and womb are PERFECT- besides the issue of no ovulation.

After talking to my doctor and getting a plan in place, Jimmie and I have decided to pursue IUI (artificial insemination) beginning in January 2024, unfortunately, my insurance deems having a child as “unnecessary” and it does not cover any of the treatment or medication for treatment.

Is it convenient? Absolutely not. However, we both know that in the end, it will be more than worth it!
