Campaign Story

Hi, my name is Latonya, and this is my partner, Brad. We pray this message finds you well. Our journey to become first-time parents has been difficult, but we have remained faithful and committed to our dreams of having children. We are now raising money for donor eggs and donor IVF expenses.

We began our IVF journey in 2021 after losing my right ovary to a cyst while we were trying to conceive naturally for more than a year. This was the first of many hurdles we would face.

In 2022, we began the process of stimulating follicles to retrieve eggs from my one remaining ovary, which was responsive to treatment the and overall IVF process. Our first retrieval did not go very well, resulting in three fertilized embryos, one fully blasted but was not given a good genetic grade. The second retrieval resulted in five embryos, three of those fully blasted, however, the second retrieval came with an unexpected complication, surgery, and an emergency room visit, so none of the embryos could be transferred and were frozen.

We had a third and final retrieval before the 2022 holiday season to increase our egg “pot”, unfortunately, this retrieval did not result in any viable embryos. Two of the three frozen embryos from the second retrieval were transferred, and one stuck, but we ultimately lost the pregnancy to miscarriage.

The stress of stimulating and retrieval has led to our decision to pursue the utilization of donor eggs. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover the option to pursue donor eggs, donor medication, or other fees required for the donor IVF cycle.

We are raising money to help to cover these expenses. Every dollar donated is a huge blessing and will be used to help us with the cost of covering donor expenses. We are hopeful that our family will grow with positive thoughts, prayers, and the support of our family, friends and those who read this bio.
