Campaign Story

My name is Kimberly and I have PCOS, or Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. PCOS affects 10% of women in the US, and often makes it difficult to conceive. At 23, I was told by my dr that I may not have children, which was devastating. My husband Ben and I have been struggling with infertility for the last 7 years, and after multiple rounds of medications and 4 unsuccessful IUI, we made the difficult decision to try IVF. We were lucky enough to get 9 embryos from our retrieval in December 2021, and did our first embryo transfer in January 2022, which was unfortunately unsuccessful. Adding yet another heartbreaking failed cycle. And while we still have 8 embryos left, it feels like we’re back at square one again.

Unfortunately, like many, infertility treatments are not covered by our insurance, and we were forced to take a loan to have the chance of a successful pregnancy through IVF, which is why we are hoping for assistance. Each embryo transfer can cost around $4,000 – $5,000, and the cost keeps increasing. And because our first transfer failed, our doctor would like to try an ERA cycle (or a mock cycle) to do a biopsy to see if something else might be going on. This adds at least another $1,000 cost.
Anything you are able to give would be a blessing to help us build our long desired family. We would also greatly appreciate prayers for our family.

Infertility is not something I would wish on anyone. It is frustrating, stressful, expensive, and causes so much heartbreak for those wanting so badly to be parents. And yet, we still have hope that God will help and gift us with the family we’ve longed for. One day, hopefully sooner rather than later, I hope to be able to tell our children how we were able to bring them to life with lots of love, prayers, and a little bit of science.
