Campaign Story

I happily want to take the time and create a fundraiser for an amazing friend and future father, Pancho, who is in the process of his surrogacy journey. I have known Pancho for almost 20 years. The child that is coming into his life is about to be the most blessed and luckiest child to have him as a father. For as long as I have known him, having his own family was always at the top of his life goals and priorities. For anyone who has the pleasure of knowing him, it goes without saying how caring he is and with no hesitation, he is always willing to drop everything at a moment’s notice to be there for anything asked of him, not only with his family and extended family, who I know first hand, is how he refers to his friends.

Having a child is undoubtedly one of, if not the most difficult journey, one can take to begin in life, it does not always come as easily for some for various reasons. After doing some research on my own, and of course listening to his journey first hand in this process, it is very clear how much of a financial strain the overall process has taken. Pancho is a proud gay man. And with that being said, even beginning the process was even a little more difficult. For knowing him as long as I have, and how his upbringing was by his wonderful parents, he has never one to ask for help. But what I do know for a fact is that he is willing, and has done, everything in his power to do anything for this beautiful gift he is about to be so blessed with. Pancho had initially planned to take a second loan on his home and cash out any 401k that he had in order to help cover the expenses and weekly bills.

But as he is getting closer to the due date of late July, more bills keep arriving and he is beginning to struggle with the final installment and lawyers fees for the pre birth order and it has been slightly overwhelming for him. I personally want to contribute and get his story out to get an already clear picture, even more crystal clear of how amazing he is as a friend and how much I, like many others, want him to achieve this goal. For all the years I have been lucky to have known him, and be great friends with him, he has always been there for all his friends and family not only without hesitation, but also unmatched happiness to do so. I can confidently say not only for myself, but for countless others as well, that now is the best time for us to come together and do the same for him that he has done for everyone else over the years.

So again with this being said, I am asking on his behalf. Any amount at all that you can so graciously contribute, will help relieve the financial strain that comes with this process and give relief to the most amazing and deserving Father to be. He had shared a quote with me in the beginning stages of his journey that has stuck in my head ever since and I want to share that with you all.

“Love is Love. Families are Families.

We embrace all families. We value all families to understand the love and commitment it takes to make one. We know that people who make a decision to start a family do so because they want to build a future for themselves and their children, to pass on their own values, but it all starts with love. At NFI, we work with women and men; straight, gay, married, unmarried, partnered or single, to translate the love they feel into the family they each desire. We’ve been leading the way in Nevada since we were founded, and we are encouraged and excited to be a part of the changes, both social and technological, that have made the modern family building possible for ALL people to achieve the dream of parenthood.”

Below are his own words and I feel they convey only a small portion of why he is an incredible person.

I sincerely thank you for taking the time to read this about him and I really truly hope we can all come together for him. I cannot wait to see all the great things of what an amazing Father will be with his child.

“I want to introduce myself. My name is Pancho Gallegos, I am 45 years old, and it has always been my dream to be a father. Through the years, as all of my friends and family started to grow their families, I have always made sure to be there for them, bring them anything they needed, and be the fun, loving Uncle that I’m so proud to be. As a gay man, the dream of being a father just seemed like it was only that, a dream. Every person close to me would say how great of a father I would be. They know the love I have for all of them and their families, and how I put my family and friends first when they need anything. Too often, people would tell me that I should look into starting my own family, but it always seemed unattainable.

I also want to share a bit about my background and upbringing with you. I was raised with my mother and father, who have been married for almost 50 years. I have two older brothers and one younger sister. We were raised in Denver, Colorado, and had the typical normal upbringing of trick or treating, and family road trips. My parents made sure that we were active in school and sports, and they were involved in all of our activities. Because of how I was brought up since I was a young boy, I envisioned myself having a family when I got older. I currently live in Las Vegas, NV, and own my own home with plenty of space for a family. My parents have a house across the street from me, which I love and wouldn’t have any other way! I have a very strong relationship with them. I know this sounds like a scene from the T.V series Everybody Loves Raymond LOL! In February 2021, I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. I am currently taking courses to obtain my master’s in Accounting Professionalism. I have been fortunate to have a loving family and a supportive circle of friends who are not just friends, but truly a part of my family too. With such a fantastic group of individuals in my life, I know that my children and I will have a great support system from the love of my family and friends.”
