Campaign Story

My name is Kelly, I am 33 years old and I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure. It has been my dream to start a family since I was in my twenties. Eric and I have been together for 15 years. Eric and I have been trying for a few years and started seeking fertility treatment. After many appointments and tests along with medications the doctor determined that I would not be able to have my own biological child due to not having any eggs. This has been a roller coaster of emotions as I think to myself, why me? After deciding my limited options and wanting to experience child birth, we decided on egg donor IVF. We are excited and scared about this journey. The fertility clinic told us that is would be $40,000.00, which does not include medications and counseling. We both work full time jobs and always have since we were teenagers. Neither of our employers insurance cover this journey. It’s very upsetting that the cost could get in the way but we are determined to fulfill our dreams of being parents. We have never asked for help and we are embarrassed that we have too. We are so hopeful with seeing all the support on here that we can reach our goal.
