Campaign Story

My name is Erika and my husband’s name is Rhett. Rhett is my second husband and when I tell you he is the most loving, patient and wonderful man on the planet it’s a true understatement.
Rhett and I were co-workers and friends for years. When my ex husband and I separated, Rhett dropped everything to come and be with me and help me with  my two children.
Eight years later we are married. We have a beautiful home, 2 dogs and three cats. My daughters absolutely adore Rhett; my youngest always says and wishes he was her “real dad.”
Rhett does not have any biological children of his own; this man was born to be the world’s best father. He has provided more love and support to my children that any father on the planet- I truly say that with absolute certainty.
When I was married to my ex husband I had my tubes tied; I was not in a good situation and didn’t want to make it worse by having another child with my ex husband. I had no idea that years later I’d actually be free and have an entire new life filled with love and happiness.
Rhett and I began the IVF process to only find out that I had very little eggs left and they are not suitable for IVF. So we need to use egg donation as well as implantation procedures. Between the cost of eggs and the procedures it costs upwards of over $40,000; it’s crazy but that’s what it costs.
Rhett has spent all his hard earned money on legal fees assisting me in my divorce and custody process. It is heartbreaking to watch him stay strong and keep a smile all the while knowing how desperately he wants to be able to have a blessing; a child of our own.
I’ve applied for countless IVF grants and have yet to obtain one.
We are very close to wanting to give up and it absolutely kills me that this wonderful, loving and supportive man might not have the opportunity to have his own biological child- no man in the world deserves to be a father more.
I came across this website today. We are desperate at this point and ready to give up. I figured why not give this a shot. We are willing to try anything and have basically exhausted our options at this point.
