Campaign Story

Hello and thank you in advance for taking the time to get to know our personal journey.

Our names are Melissa and George and we are both veterans having proudly served for the USAF and the USMC.

We have been together since 2013 and have had at least a decades worth of misdiagnosis and undiagnosed fertility struggles. After having been misled to believe I had struggles with PCOS since at least 2010, we had finally recieved the correct care in 2022 and had discovered that our struggles were actually with endometriosis. Due to the scar tissue developed over time, one fallopian tube had to be removed and my remaining fallopian tube is inoperable and remains blocked due to the inability for because of its distal placement.

Our only opportunity to conceive is through IVF.

Currently, the VA only approves IVF treatment care for veterans who have service connected disabilities or injuries causing infertility. As it stands today, we do not meet these requirements. We will have to seek treatment on our own.

We have been through all levels of fertility treatment and surgeries short of IVF and are humbly seeking aid to be able to afford the care that we need.
