Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Gift of Parenthood?

Gift of Parenthood is a charitable platform dedicated to helping couples and individuals suffering with infertility. The organization aims at helping future parents by raising awareness, spreading hope, and fundraising to assist with advanced fertility treatments such as IUI, IVF, egg and embryo donation, as well as gestational surrogacy and adoption.

What countries are supported on Gift of Parenthood?

We are working to expand our services to more countries in the future, but for now, your fundraiser must be created in the US, Canada, United Kingdom, or Australia.

How can I edit my fundraiser?

To edit your fundraiser, just login to your Dashboard and click on Manage > Edit Campaign.

Do you charge fundraising fees?

Gift of Parenthood has a 0% platform fee for fundraisers. However, to help us operate safely and securely, our payment processors deduct a small transaction fee (which includes debit and credit processing charges) from each donation made. Campaign beneficiaries receive all funds raised minus these transaction fees.

You can find more information about fundraising fees in our Help Center: Fees

How can I receive financial assistance?

Infertility is emotionally and financially draining so we wanted to help future parents pave a path to parenthood by amplifying their voices and creating opportunities for conversation and open discussion.  To do this, we launched a free fundraising platform to provide tools and inspire conversation around this growing struggle.

In addition, our monthly Family Building Grant Giveaway creates a tremendous opportunity for future parents to receive up to $15,000 for their fertility treatment, surrogacy, or adoption journey.

Are single individuals and/or members of the LGBTQ community eligible to receive the award?

Yes, the Gift of Parenthood is a platform for all people! We believe in inclusivity and strive to be diverse in regards to ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, relationship status, medical history and geography.

When will the giveaway recipients be announced?

Recipients are announced on or around the 16th of every month. You can find the deadline for the current event on the grant giveaway page. Winners will be announced on the website and will be contacted via email to confirm that they have won and are entitled to a Prize.

How will awards be distributed?

Gift of Parenthood distributes the funds directly to the service provider. Unfortunately, the funds will not cover financial obligations that have accrued prior to the award, but could be applied towards treatment or service that hasn't been paid for at the time of award.

What costs are covered by the award?

The award can be used to cover any expenses associated with assisted reproduction such as IUI, IVF, egg and sperm donation, egg freezing, and surrogacy, as well as expenses associated with adoption.

Does the award cover fertility medication?

Payment for the fertility medication may be included in the award only if the applicant’s insurance provider does not cover this cost. Payment is made directly to the fertility clinic or pharmacy.

How quickly must the award be used?

Recipient must establish as a patient/client by scheduling a consultation within 60 days of award and start treatment or adoption process within 120 days of award.

Is there an age limit?

Giveaways are open solely to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States, the District of Columbia, and Canada who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

How much does IVF cost?

The cost of any infertility treatment such as IVF can vary depending on your circumstances and the clinic’s rate. However, in general, IVF costs can range from $8,000 to $15,000+ per cycle, plus the cost of medication.

What is the cost of fertility treatments such as egg donation, artificial insemination, and surrogacy?

In general, the cost for IUI (artificial insemination) and Clomid services can range from approximately $500 to $3,500. However, the need for repeat procedures can escalate the cost and in some cases double or triple it. Egg donation starts at approximately $10,000, but will depend on the clinic. Surrogacy fees can be as high as $100,000 when taking in the account the agency fee, lawyers’ fees, and medical costs.
