Partner Spotlight: Fertility Institute Of Hawaii

Four times per year the Gift of Parenthood organization and its partners provide fertility grants to carefully selected hopeful parents across the US. The chosen applicants then receive financial assistance towards their fertility treatments of choice. As a non-profit organization, our grant cycles would not be possible without our valued partners, many of whom are fertility clinics. These sponsors go above and beyond to help us in our mission to educate, inspire, and provide financial assistance to those that struggle with infertility. To show our appreciation for our newest partner clinic, The Fertility Institute Of Hawaii, we would like to highlight them below and share some information about what makes them special.

Please note that success rates vary from clinic to clinic based on patient medical conditions, treatment methods, and data collection. Additionally, though the following clinics are our sponsors, we work with many clinics across the country, and grant recipients may receive treatment from any medical facility or laboratory operated by a licensed physician. This includes any fertility clinic that is a member of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology (SART).

The Fertility Institute Of Hawaii’s Advanced Treatment Options

Gift of Parenthood applicants should consider this island-based clinic for state-of-the-art facilities and advanced treatments including Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT), EmbryoScope®, INVOcell™, Ovulation Induction, In Vitro Fertilization (IVF), Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), Donor Egg IVF, fertility preservation, and many other treatment options. Here are more details about their offerings:

Preimplantation Genetic Testing (PGT)

PGT is a special procedure where embryos are evaluated for chromosomal abnormalities prior to being transferred into the uterus during IVF. This procedure is not offered at all fertility clinics because it is very complex and requires specialized training.

EmbryoScope®

The Fertility Institute Of Hawaii is the first clinic in Hawaii to offer EmbryoScope® technology. This is a specialized tool that allows Embryologists to monitor growing embryos 24/7 from any location, giving patients peace of mind.

INVOcell™

The Fertility Institute Of Hawaii was the first in the state to offer INVOcell™ treatment to its patients. INVOcell™ is a modified In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) procedure that utilizes the INVOcell device.  The INVOcell is a small medical-grade plastic device used as a vaginal incubator. Embryos are placed into the INVOcell, which is then placed into the patient’s vagina. The patient then returns to the office three to five days later and the device is removed, embryos are retrieved from the device, and evaluated for embryo transfer or cryopreservation.  This procedure can cost about half of a traditional IVF cycle with similar success rates.

Ovulation Induction

Ovulation induction medications, or “fertility drugs” stimulate the ovaries to produce eggs during the treatment cycle. The Fertility Institute Of Hawaii uses this treatment often with great success.

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)

The Fertility Institute of Hawaii uses state-of-the-art technology and superiorly trained physicians and staff to treat its patients with IVF. While they have excellent overall success rates for patients, the specific age-related success rates will vary based on many personal factors.

Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)

In this technically challenging procedure, a small glass needle is used to inject a single sperm directly into the egg. This procedure requires intensive training and experience, which the physicians at The Fertility Institute of Hawaii have in spades.

Donor Egg IVF

Egg donation in Hawaii is an excellent option for couples whose eggs will no longer fertilize and produce healthy embryos.

Fertility Preservation

Fertility preservation is more successful now than ever before. The Fertility Institute of Hawaii is now able to cryopreserve embryos, eggs, or sperm for patients in Hawaii.

Unfortunately, many US couples struggle to conceive and though they may seek medical help in the form of fertility treatments, IUI, IVF, egg and sperm donation, egg freezing, and surrogacy, these treatments are costly and come with no guarantee of a successful pregnancy.

At The Gift of Parenthood organization, we look forward to a future of more affordable and successful fertility treatment options for those struggling. In the meantime, we aim to help couples and individuals struggling with infertility achieve their dreams of becoming parents through fertility assistance grants ranging from $1,000 to $16,000, available four times a year. We are honored to partner with The Fertility Institute Of Hawaii to make parenthood possible for those struggling.
